Make a Difference Today
At Calculating for Success, Inc., helping others is our main goal.  We aim to provide Robinson High School with at least one classroom set of graphing calculators by the end of the 2019-2020 school year.  We hope to expand this initiative to other high schools within Hillsborough County in the future.
WHO WE ARE
Here at Calculating for Success, Inc., we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in aiding in the success of students.  Ever since experiencing the disadvantages of others firsthand, it has become our goal to provide graphing calculators to Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida.  This nonprofit was founded by Brooke Rodriguez, a senior in the IB program at Robinson High School, to give back to the school that has done so much for her.
OUR STORY
This past year, I was tutoring a student after school in a math ELP session. While I was using my graphing calculator, this student asked me what it was as he had never seen nor used one before. After other tutoring sessions with even more students, I was surprised to notice how many students had no idea how to use a graphing calculator. I have come to rely on my graphing calculator in my Calculus, Chemistry, and Biology classes, and especially for the ACT and SAT. They are such vital tools for success, and I want to be able to help other students succeed both in STEM classes and standardized testing. My initial goal is to provide my school with at least one classroom set of graphing calculators to encourage students to take higher math and science classes without fear of not having the right resources. Ultimately, I hope to expand this initiative throughout Hillsborough County. I want to help those who might not have the means necessary to acquire these resources on their own. Robinson High School has given so much to me, and I would love to be able to provide back to it. The inspiration behind creating this nonprofit was due to my love of math and science and my desire to aid others in their success in these often challenging courses.  Hopefully I will be able to expand this initiative in the future.
OUR GOAL
We hope to encourage students to take STEM based classes without fear of not having the right supplies. Â Graphing calculators are a vital tool for success on standardized tests as well as science and math classes. Â It is important to us to do all that we can to provide to Robinson High School and help those who may not have the needs available to purchase the calculators needed in high school classes. Â All students deserve to have access to these tools that are so vital to success.
